How many alternate titles do the film Beauty and the
Billionaire (2022) have? A light, bright romantic drama with, to be honest, the
well-worn opposites attract trope. The film is about a grounded, creative woman
who slowly falls for a wealthy, emotionally shut-down billionaire. The story is
nothing to write home about; the simplicity of the film coupled with the
couple's chemistry is enough to get an audience.
The acting is acceptable and decent, with the female
lead going all in on her performance. The cinematography was tidy and well
shot, if not generic. There are a few scenes here and there that are a bit
predictable; however, if you are a fan of snug, feel-good romances, this film
ticks all the boxes. It is not intended to be some grand piece of cinema, a
comfort film. Perfect for a Friday night when all you want to do is simply get
lost in a fairy-tale romance.
